Is this just a gimmick? Will anyone do this?
Microsoft is letting users earn up to 25 'tickets' a day, one for every time they search. After April 16th you can redeem your tickets for gifts..e.g 5500 tickets will earn you a free Xbox controller!
Anyone think Live.com will gain market share with this 'stunt'?

p.s you've got to be using IE to view this properly :( |
Lame! BTW, they used to do the same thing a couple of years ago.. |
Hmmm...
"The Perk Counter is a helpful tool that will keep track of the number of tickets you earn by searching as well as provide links to important SearchPerks! information, such as prize options, F.A.Q.’s and customer service. The Perk Counter also tracks some online activity, like clicks on banner ads. The Perk Counter does not track what you search for or which websites you visit." |
Well spotted. Very sneaky. Not quite as bad as the Google Toolbar though? |
In the meantine in the Netherlands Microsoft started a initiave with Otto.nl. It's a similiar action as serachperks, www.luckysearch.nl. |
Do you think they'd notice if I only used IE to search for variations on "Microsoft Sucks" or "Google Rules" 25 times a day? (You can't search for the same thing twice, I'm hoping this is reset each day)
Worth a try :P |
ah forget that, it's US only |

You can only win up to (31+30+31+31+28+31+15)*25+500=5425 tickets, but there's a prize that requires 5500 tickets. |
Ionut "Stay tuned for additional ways to earn tickets once you join the promotion" http://www.getsearchperks.com/SignUp.aspx?campaignid=perks
Guess that would mean you can get enough via other methods as well |
ionut: You receive 500 points for registration so you can earn at least 5925 tickets |
David M He included those (Just before the equals sign) |
Since our search results aren't as good, use us instead of Google because we might give you a prize! |
People will probably go to live.com, type 25 random queries and then use Google for the real searches. |
