Jaiku is predominantly a web/online play, similar to Twitter. Whereas SMS Channels is a result of the realization that reach on lowest-end mobile phones far outstrips web-enabled user-base in a country like India. Interesting to see Google launch a product first in India! This is an attempt to catch-up with SMS Gupshup, which has already grown to 7M users as of June this year...
