Why is a search on Gmail limited to 20 results per "page" when your Inbox or labels can show 100? Also it doesn't give you the option to go to the oldest results (as you can with labels)

I just think it's a bit strange, and also shows I don't actually search my mail that often :P

i am struggling to find a way to get more results displayed.
i use the search feature all the time and want to see more results per page. it may have been done for better performance but user should be able to control to some extent.
