Do you have an anti-virus software, like AVG? ;-) |
The StumbleUpon toolbar gives yellow stars in this position. |
After a Quick Google it seems that AVG is the most likely culprit.

Should you wish to uninstall the "LinkScanner" you can follow the instructions from this site (I don't have AVG so I'm not sure of the Accuracy)
