Every time I use google translate the source language field is set to Spanish. It makes some sense to keep the destination language to English, but since we have now the auto detect feature, why isn't it automatically selected? Does anyone know whether this is a local setting, or something global? And if the latter case is true, what's the reasoning behind that?

They also point a useful url which we can bookmark and use to make the default source language be the automatic detection: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?langpair=auto|en. I'm definitely going to use this myself.
