Among comments to "Gmail Modes," on alternate ways to access Gmail from beyond corporate firewalls etc, or when usual means are not working, written by Alex Chitu, there was one somewhat-workable solution, setting up a private single-user Google Group: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/10/gmail-modes.html#c4011016933471377750
and one merely wished-for – secure read-only access to the mailbox (All Mail, Inbox, or selected Label(s)?) via the Google Reader: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/10/gmail-modes.html#c4645635216907000091
Because the Reader seems more stable than (very occassionally, but still...) flaky Gmail, I'd like to investigate that route, viewing of selected (filtered) messages only. But is it at all possible, as it undoubtedly must involve setting up some automagic RSS-channel between Gmail and Reader? |
