Street View has been added to Google Maps for DC and Seattle – I think that is all for this update.

The Google LatLong blog says there is also an Easter egg in today's update,

"To give you even more of a reason to explore Street View, we've hidden another special surprise somewhere in our US imagery so keep your eyes peeled. Need a hint to get you started? It's in the home state of someone whose name you'll see on the ballot today."

Any ideas?

Here's Google's post:

Obama was born in Hawaii and is the Senator of Illinois. John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama, and is Senator of Arizona. Other nominees include Bob Barr and Cynthia McKinney. (Thank you Wikipedia.)

Hmm, can anyone see the White Hhouse in Street View?

Above 6 comments were made in the forum before this was blogged,

If you "stand" looking south at the corner of 16th and H, you can see some of the White House. Similarly, you can see a little bit of it looking north across the Ellipse from Constitution.

Street View coverage now for the USA (sorry Sarah Palin, no Alaska, sorry Barrack Obama, no Hawai)

You can now reach Richmond from Boston (East coast) completely with Google Street View.

Sweet. I do certain house inspections in the Seattle area... maybe I can cut corners with Google Street View:)

I see Alaska coverage in Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks. It almost gets to Wasilla, but not quite sadly.

There is a label "Google Googleplex" in Mountain View, CA. Is it new?

BTW, there is also a Mountain View in Hawaii, but I doubt it's a joke ;)

HERE IT IS. It took place in Pittsburgh, PA. I was involved in the project and actually posted about it a few months ago. Check out my full wrap up and then give the artists some link love. We worked for months on the project.

They've also labelled Mozilla Foundation nearby – what's cheeky is the Mozilla only own two buildings on Landing Dr not the whole complex.

Has any found any other corporations marked? (Quick check shows Yahoo and Microsoft's HQs aren't.)
