Interessting!
I just used a wacky service to transfer mail from hotmail to gmail (for my sister), izzi something something. And that service is very bad. It eats the emails in hotmail and just imports them as plain text, so you lose all your attachments. Not so great.
If people can switch without much pain, there will be a lot more people who will switch.
And how do they count the accounts? Only active accounts? |
They probably count the unique visitors for URLs like: http ://us.*.mail.yahoo.com/* http[s]://mail.google.com/* |
[Moved from "Importing contacts and mail" – Tony]
Gmail is now allowing directly importing mail and contacts from another email account for a small subset of users. additionally it can also import any new mail for next 30 days automatically.
