Creative Commons also has Nutch setup to do this. Here's the url format:

http://search.creativecommons.org/index.jsp?q=QueryGoesHere&format=&hitsPerPage=10&hitsPerSite=2&engine=nutch

Speaking of Creative Commons, are you archiving all the xml submitted to your Google Modules site? There should be some sort of requirement that the data has some sort of copyleft so it can be remixed and/or revived if the author drops out.

At the moment we're only linking to the URL of the XML, and we don't link to a stored XML on our server... but that may change, and then maybe that could be done via Creative Commons...

Is this the same thing as using the Creative Commons search that is installed as one of the search plugins for FireFox? Speaking of, I'm not sure when it appeared in the list... I don't recall it being in 1.0.x but its there in 1.5.
