Google translate inaccessible (China)

I'm a daily user of Google translate in my work. For around a week Google translate has been inaccessible from Beijing. I'm unable to pinpoint the exact date when it became unavailable --when Google translate is inaccessible I reluctantly use Babelfish. Has anyone else been having problems?

I'm in Italy, and translate.google.com (or .it) works fine here. But queries like [translate cane] or [translate cane in english] submitted to the main Google page (www.google.com) no longer work (previously they gave OneBox results). Does anyone know why?

Update: [translate cane] now works again.

(Now Google just has to guess what language I have in mind, "cane" being a word in Italian, English and French!)

I believe that the main point is to find out if Great Firewall of China is blocking it...
