I'm glad I signed up for Gmail back when they had a lot more storage.

Seems it's been fixed... I checked in a few different browsers – I'm sure the javascript counter was just mis-initialized (the number was static – no incremental increase).

It shows the old counter for just a second, then it's back to the 7GB counter..

Same here, 2757.xx first and 7312.862983 megabytes then (Firefox in use)

I still got some problems with my storage counter in my Gmail. The bar is gone. See this screenshot:
