Paul Lilly has a somewhat different story at Maximum PC.
"At a press event earlier this week, Chief Executive Gianfranco Lanci and Jim Wong head of Acer's IT products business line, told reporters that while Acer plans on using Google's open-source Android OS in its upcoming smartphone, it doesn't feel the OS is ready for netbooks."

Android is not yet Bugged free fm its mobile OS ., how could anybody thinking of a netbook edition then . though for the mountain for Micro$oft window$ 7 . they might try to release it b4 window$ 7 released but half baked cake (Android OS for Netbook) would only make more confusion.
Ubuntu will be better option for acer (IMO)
