To bad you can't automate scripts to run automatically if you want to email or to change a calender.
"can invoke scripts in different ways:
- by referencing it from a Spreadsheet cell formula [...] Any use of API methods that interact with Google products will result in an error.
- by clicking on the Run button from the online Script Editor
- from a custom menu is a Spreadsheet
- by clicking on a drawing embedded in a Spreadsheet"

Update: I asked Google whether this will only be available for the Google Apps (For Your Domain) program, or if it will be rolled out to all clients, and Google answers: "For now it's in limited test for Apps domains, and we do intend to roll out it to all domains. It would definitely make sense to roll it out to consumers as well, though we don't have any firm plans at this early stage."

What makes them think there are only developers in Google Apps accounts? I have a public Google Account account and I need Google Apps Script just as much as any other. They should at least open up some Google Apps for Teams account for public users, a "googlescript.com" domain or something similar, for which anyone can apply!

I feel disappointed and left out of an important development... :(
