As of this morning, all my conversations render in apparently-new collapsed view with stump addresses and text-snippet already visible, where previously only graphic "mesage indicator lines" were present (requiring an extra click to become visible, prior to expanding). This is a move in the right direction, but needs to be perfected still, because it really only works as imagined at the lowest and next-lowest default text size. The absolute-value CSS is to blame. Here I bumped it up to my usual 18p text (eyes not getting any younger), and already with mere 2 collapsed messages it looks strange, so imagine it with 18 previous items or so:
