Hi All,

I work on an anti-torture project focussed on Bush's Legal Architect of Torture John Yoo, tenured at UC Berkeley Law school teaching United States Constitutional Law.

Part of my work is running the notorious blog firejohnyoo.org.

I am working on a timeline of events related to professor yoo and need to search the internet as it existed in previous years of the Bush administration. Any recommendations?

Sorry for not being more specific. I need to see all the news articels, blogs, etc referring to John Yoo in 2005 for example – existing on the web at the time.

There is no 100% approach, but you can try using Google News Archive:

http://news.google.com/archivesearch

After doing the initial search you will be presented with a blue time-line on the top, allowing you to narrow your search to a specific time period.

You can also display similar time-line in the regular Google Search (www.google.com) by doing an initial Google search, clicking "Show options..." and then choosing "Timeline" in the right-hand menu.

Keep in mind that this feature is still far from perfect.
