Whilst this isn't new, I guess we might see it being used for something soon. I wouldn't hold your breath though – the subdomain has been around for years already.

(I suspect that AOL used to host their Google powered search there once upon a time...)

Looks like it's around for at least 2 years:
google.com/search?q=%22aol.goo ...
