I think the people writing the image captions are not necessarily the authors of the article. I imagine it goes like this: the reporter sends in the article, the photographer sends in the photo, and some CMS guy hacks in it and also creates the photo caption. I could be wrong, but the AP article also had the wrong photo caption, and I almost can't imagine the AP making such a big mistake... and in the AP article itself, the mistake also wasn't repeated. |
