Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone else has gotten the Chromium OS up and running? I've managed to, but for some reason the App Bar tab (or whatever it's called; the far left tab) doesn't show anything. |
Do you perhaps have to add individual apps (like gmail.com, or hotmail.com) to that menu yourself (e.g. by visiting their URL and then pressing something)? |
Well, there is a "Create application shortcuts" menu option, clicking it prompts you to add shortcuts on the desktop or application menu but nothing appears anywhere that I can see.
I did try navigating to http://goto.ext.google.com/crux-home, which is apparently the URL for that tab, but just received a login prompt. After restarting the OS, the app tab now shows that same login page. |

Interesting... didn't the name 'crux' come up before? Anybody remember which service it was in relation to? |
German Linux magazine provided a VMware image of Chromium OS:

They also published a couple of screenshots (which I've uploaded here to color compress them first to speed up the display): http://blogoscoped.com/files/chromium-os-linux-magazin/1.png http://blogoscoped.com/files/chromium-os-linux-magazin/2.png http://blogoscoped.com/files/chromium-os-linux-magazin/3.png http://blogoscoped.com/files/chromium-os-linux-magazin/4.png http://blogoscoped.com/files/chromium-os-linux-magazin/5.png

Yes running in VMware here, i've download an image from http://gdgt.com. When downloaded you can login with the username 'chronos' with the password 'password'. Then you can login on the application menu. |
I can't log in, I always get "incorrect username or password". I tried 3 personal account but also chronos/password. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have an azerty keyboard but make sure I type correctly. I'm using VirtualBox on Mac OSX and I have no notification for lack of Internet connexion (I'm on Ethernet). |
