it reminds me of a video by the french collective Pleix http://www.pleix.net/films.html

NETLAG is a reality show of 1609 webcams that were positiond around the world. Each camera saved an image every ten minutes (from 29-01-2004 18:40 GTM until 30-01-2004 18:40 GTM). The images were downloaded thanks to "PICSUCKER" software which was created specifically for the project by Damien "Dee909" Coureau on TrollTech QT (Knoppix Linux). The depiction of it was done with MGLR in the MacGuffLigne studios in Paris. The music of the film was composed by Henrik José aka BLISS, and the title of the piece is "Do you remember how it felt".
