When I pause my mouse on a word a small bar with meanings for that word pops-up. I want this to STOP, what do I need to do?

Quit visiting the site – it has implemented some hack to hijack link words and submit them to expansion on mouse hover. So vote with your absence from their traffic numbers.

You're probably using an add-on that offers this feature: maybe Google Toolbar with word translation enabled or a similar add-on. Try to find the add-on that offers the feature and disable that feature or uninstall the add-on.
