Interesting. It's all gossip, of course, no hard proof of anything that I can see, but still... wonder what kind of pressure Schmidt –if it indeed it was he wielding the axe– applied to have the blog so abruptly removed. The blog, BUT APPARENTLY NOT THE GOOGLE-MAINTAINTED CACHE OF IT. It's a no brainer to imagine that a bevy of lawyers were involved but precisely at what junction of the, hmmm..., blog-me-no-blogaffair?
On a lighter note – I'm not interested in any tru-life revelations the blogger might have disclosed, but wouldn't mind knowing what Phototshop-or-similar filters were applied to create the worn-picture effects of many illustations there, e.g. [photos still in blogspot.com's cache!]
