This is not a help forum for Gmail or other Google services, but, to help you along.... you are PRESUMABLY asking "how do I import my address book and/or AppleMail.app contacts into my new Gmail account" (I don't know what possible "Safari addresses" you were thinking of). In effect you want to share your desktop mail client's mail contacts/ addresses with the web app that is the Gmail.

By itself, Gmail is capable only of importing of contacts, incoming mail and even whole POP3/IMAP archives from other ONLINE mail accounts only – like the Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc. Once instructed, Gmail will connect to their servers as were it your usual desktop client and "suck in" relevant data from there. See Gmail Settings > Accounts and Import label: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&guide=25413&topic=25414

Read it, study the entire guide first, then continue....

But that's presumably not what you were asking for. So let your fingers do the Googlewalking [preferably in agooglsynchronous fashion]: http://google.com/search?q=import+contacts+from+%22Apple+Mail%22 which *just* may contain the answers you were looking for.
