How do I use my address book from MacBook or Safari with gmail? Can anyone help?

This is not a help forum for Gmail or other Google services, but, to help you along.... you are PRESUMABLY asking "how do I import my address book and/or AppleMail.app contacts into my new Gmail account" (I don't know what possible "Safari addresses" you were thinking of). In effect you want to share your desktop mail client's mail contacts/ addresses with the web app that is the Gmail.

By itself, Gmail is capable only of importing of contacts, incoming mail and even whole POP3/IMAP archives from other ONLINE mail accounts only – like the Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc. Once instructed, Gmail will connect to their servers as were it your usual desktop client and "suck in" relevant data from there.
