Perhaps it could have hurt their SEO work about that if they had used those characters. And they might have been stripped from the URL. |

Related to the URL TOMHTML mentioned it's a good point, probably ..../27/google-acquires-ångströ-a-social-...
can cause some problems.
I'm writing this with keyboard with å,ö and ä and the starting post was written with phone with ö and ä and å with some tricks :)
