There is a report on Steven Levy's book, "In the Plex". The coverage by Richard Hartley-Parkinson is at Mail Online.

It says that at one time Sergey Brin and Larry Page wanted Steve Jobs as CEO.

It also says that when Eric Schmidt was a member of Apple's board of directors, the iPad was kept secret from him.

"Mr Schmidt had wanted to stay in the country [China] but he was outvoted and it is believed that the decision had 'long-lasting implications for Schmidt's relationship with the founders'."

There is another report by Wilfried F. Voss at FrogenYozurt.

This book is not to be confused with "Life in the 'Plex" by Philipp Lenssen.
