Why should it take me two clicks to log out of a Google product like GMail or Reader?

These days, there are so many links on the top right corner, there is a hesitation of a few moments and time wasted before I remember which one to click in order to find the precious sign out link. This is NOT the Googley way of doing things. Not cool at all.

What will it take for Google to give us a single-click logout link ready and available in a prominent place?
