Can't see images/pictures in mail

I can't view jpegs or any images in my gmail. I can't locate anywhere any setting that allows me to do so. Help.

I have the same problem. Nobody wants to admit, but I think it's a security feature in google so that you don't flood your email with images. They only want you to send and receive text.

When the images inside the email are hosted on external servers, then they won't be showing by defaut. Or else, that external server could analyze when the image was requested, and thus do a counter of active email accounts. I suppose that's the reason...
You can still click "show external images" or something similar on top.

Inlined images (those attached to the mail) seem to work fine.
