I read a blog post about some of these ads about a week ago on GrayWolf's blog (I think). I think asking for links within the text of the ad is a brilliant idea! Love it!

As you say, people who put up these ads pay for every click on them.
Yet ... if they don't get enough clicks, AdWords stops running the ad until they re-word it and try again...
