Or even easier you can disable the chat feature. I made a screenshot of it http://www.flickr.com/photos/carlbanks/97624276/
I thought I had emailed you about this Phil. |
Disregard my last comment. I just realized it's a different issue. |
If you get errors installing a gm script, try restarting the browser. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the Google Toolbar. |
If you're annoyed to the point that you'd be willing to give up the new chat feature just to get rid of the popups, you can do that by clicking the "standard without chat" link at the very bottom of the gmail window. I don't know why they wouldn't have had an option to just disable the popups as they are quite intrusive.
The best would be to only have the popups when you mouseover names in you quick contacts list, not over emails. |
I agree with niraj. Cocaman and me were chatting and these pops keep popping up!! Its nosiy like philipp says!!
I |
Gmail seems to have got rid of the pop-ups.
No need to use a greasemonkey script anymore. |
Utills, I'm still getting them... maybe they're rolling this one out slowly as usual? |
me 2.. its very irratating!! |
They just dissappeared for me as well. They still show up in quick contacts |
Same here...that's exactly the functionality that I was hoping for (as mentioned above). Only shows the popups over the quick contacts menu. Awesome. |
Ah, thank goodness. The Gmail team seems to be listening (either that, or they became annoyed by this as well!). |
hehehe...my pop up dissappered when i logged in this morning..!!
I dont mind the quick contacts popup , I'll live with that!! |
I can't access Gmail from work anymore because of the Chat option wanting to start automatically.
How does one kill this option? |
On the bottom of the page you see this: Gmail view: standard with chat | standard without chat | basic HTML Learn more
