great news!!!!! i was about to die from that.. |
Chat now works over https through gmail too! |
it's really bother that there is no possibility of away and invisible! why do i have to be online or busy all the time? what if i'm at work and can't talk to everybody? it's just anooying. |
orli, you can use "Gmail view: standard without chat". Another way, you can use "Busy" status or choice "Sign out of chat" from status menu. |
Popups gone only from mail list, but showed if hover in Quick Contacts. |
yeah. i know that but what's the use? let say i want to stay online and be away? this one i can't understand why google don't provid with. and what about some sound? (i agree that should be a choice) |
I guess I'm the only one that found them useful. I didn't use them for the chat button, but I liked having quick access to the "Contact details" & "Recent conversations" links. I'll miss them. Google should make them an option in the settings.
|
I think they should find a better way to integrate them, and in the meantime it's good that they're gone. For example, a small chat icon next to the name when you open the email could be nice – it would trigger the popup on click (not on hover). |
popup on click is the way to go.. better UI |
Agreed. Popup on click is the way to go. |
It also would be nice if there was some bigger notification when someone starts a chat. Right now, it just blinks orange, and then shows up in the page title. Maybe a beep...? |
Is anyone expereince a security alert window pop up during chatting at times ??
|
/pd, no I havent.
I think the notification when someone chats to you is fairly good. You get to see it on the tab/window title if you are not looking at your inbox at that time in the form:
"John Smith says..."
One issue I have notice is no notification at all for when you have the window popped out. That would be nice. |
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) |
does anyone know what an orange ball with white clock-handles means??? its next to one of the names on my contact list, and it looks like it could be an "away" sign, except i dont have that option on my own list of "set your status" ... |
Lexis, in my experience it shows that someone with Google Talk is away, meaning it has auto detected that they haven't done much one their computer recently. |
