I was just using Google Local and saw something I hadn't seen before. When I searched for a business, once I clicked the business name in the left column I got the usual address popup over the pushpin. But there's now a second tab on the popup with details. For restaurants, this details tab shows business hours and also rankings which you previously had to go to another page for.

then click on a business on the left to see an example.

Actually it looks like this may have been around for a while, though I have never noticed it before: blogoscoped.com/forum/14283.ht ...

It depends on the search, so maybe they've updated it to gather the "detailed" information more than it used to.
