I have never tried this!!

The closet I zoomed onto was my apt building , but the most resolution that I got was 1500 meters view!!

You mean center of the US. The maps start off by displaying the US.

being a curious person, i did a check on this.. but both hyrbird and sat images sez : "try zooming out for a baroder view".

The center in Google Earth is a different town in Kansas that seems to get even more publicity.

it's lawrence, kansas and it is the former hometown of the keyhole's exec Brian McClendon. and indeed lawrence, kansas is the geographic center of the U.S.
