Wasn't Orkut developed by a Google employee during his employment?

Hmmm. What is the English translation of "Vorratsgesellschaft"?. That would be it, to answer Phillips question.

Hmn... Here's my own list, gathered from press releases and different searches on the internet (I love blogs about google!). The URLS are where I found out about each purchase/aquisition or the actual company website. The only one in here that's not technically a purchase is Baidu, in which Google is a part-owner/investor.

Nice list. Though i don't think BearingPoint or Current Communications belong to Google, they are just partnering with them. Also I know you mentioned Hello, which I think is a program created by the company behind Picasa, which isn't mentioned above.

Yeah, Dan is right. Hello is not a company – merely an IM program with a focus on Photos.
