Gmail filling up

I setup a gmail account for my father two years ago and starting forward a copy of all of his emails to that account--so that he could have a searchable backup. In that time, he has filled up 76% of his gmail account, and will likely fill it up completely by the end of the year.

What I'd like to do is set up yet another gmail account and start offloading some of the oldest emails into that account. Is there anyway to do that? To move emails from one gmail account to another or to batch forward emails from 2004, for example?

Any help would be appreciated.

Not that I know of. Why not forward new emails into the new gmail account?
