Does anybody have a guess when Gmail storage capacity will reach 3 gigabytes (if it continues at its current rate of increase)? I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks.

April 2nd is the 91st day of the year on a non leap year (which the involved years are)
Last year, on the April third through about October it was running at almost exactly 1000 MB/365 days (according to my math) Some time after October (not sure when) is slowed down significantly. but, if we ignore that fluctuation for a moment, it has been 355 days and we are at 2707 MB.... since Google calls 1000MB a gig, we have gained 707MB in 355 days. (very slightly less than 2MB a day) at that rate, we should reach 3000 MB in about 147 days AKA day 228 AKA August 17th..... of course, this does not account for that huge shift, and I'm expecting a potential bum on 4/1 again.

If you view source on the main gmail login page, you see this in the javascript:

var CP = [
   [ 1128150000000, 2650],
   [ 1136102400000, 2680],
   [ 1149145200000, 2730]
];

This indicates there are 70 days until storage hits 2730MB (the last array entry). Anything beyond that point is not yet certain as they may raise or lower the rate of storage increase. So 23MB in 70 days means it is increasing at about 1/3MB per day currently.
