It appears the Google blog has been hacked.

I also noticed this. I read the blog through Google Reader and this post showed up this morning:
"lGoogle, fix your blog pleeasssee! <3
(P.S. Just to clear things up, I'm not associated with Google at all. I just wanted to take advantage of this before someone else with less worthy intentions did.)"
Clicking through to the original item shows a page not found error at blogger (googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/0 ...) though, so I guess they've already repaired the problem. |
Conversation with hacker was posted here along with the screenie:

Though SearchEngineWatch proclame that Treys googleblog-hack didn't actually make it to the site, but only was seen in feedreaders (blog.searchenginewatch.com/blo ...), I did indeed see it.
At about 7.30 I noticed that the originally googleblog was replaced with one of those standard blogger-designs titled "Google", and with the blue blogspot bar at the top. The post had the url googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/0 ... and there also was a profile description with link to: blogger.com/profile/437751
About 8 am the site was replaced with a 404 "Not Found" and 8.30 the originally blog was up again. After they took it down I had a second post in my feed-reader fom Trey:
"Googleblog Cache You can view an old version of the real Googleblog at Google's cache of the Official Google Blog. It's a few days old, though, and I know it's missing some of the latest posts" |
PR9 and he didn't make a link to his website? Bad hacker! ^^
I have translated the story for FRENCH users of google blogoscoped : zorgloob.com/2006/03/blog-offi ... |
No, I didn't link my site because I wasn't there for attention. I just wanted to hold the site so nobody else could get it while things were being fixed. I put some info temporarily on my site (www.lazykarma.com) after a nice rush of people decided to Google me and contact me. |
