"top-flight" simply means "excellent" / "best possible" (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=top-flight), of course Google hires only the best people.
However, this part is still suspicious – "highly sensitive, confidential and non-routine information." handled by a temporary employee? |

No, the real April Fool's gag is Google Romance – http://www.google.com/romance |
Philipp Lenssen | 18 years ago # |
> This is annoying, my joke a b3ta.com the > other week was the exact same one
The anonymous Googler lets me know the idea wasn't inspired by yours, but that this was a coincidence – the idea for Google Rooms actually dates back to March 14, when the anonymous Googler emailed his friend Andreas about the project. But after the anonymous Googler realized the coincidence on Friday after receiving the B3ta newsletter he was indeed mildly shocked just as you are now :) |
Philipp Lenssen | 18 years ago # |
Oh, and by the way, a happy April Fool's to everyone :) |
Fred | 18 years ago # |

For those who still don't know: http://www.google.com/romance/profile.html says: "Profile Upload Rejected
You gave it your best shot, but things don't always turn out how you expected. This is because you either:
1. Fell for our April Fool’s joke, in which case ha ha, wasn't that amusing and harmless and mostly in good taste and not all psychologically damaging under various and sundry aspects of contemporary tort law, please don't sue us; or
2. Are genuinely enjoying, or least momentarily tolerating, our April Fool’s joke and wanted to surf your way into its every last nook and cranny, in which case

2. you might want to take a trip down our April Fool’s memory lane, here or here or here. Enjoy." |
