Yay! Good job, whoever did this!
(I don't like Putin much.) |
lol, it's always fun when they do things like this. =P |
well Google will not do it , we saw the miserable failure and it s still there. do you think russian government can alternate their choice to move it away ? |
Putin does not really care – yandex.ru Russian search engine' first hit for 'enemy of people' in russian is still Putin's biography – http://yandex.ru/yandsearch?stype=www&nl=0&text=%22%E2%F0%E0%E3+%ED%E0%F0%EE%E4%E0%22

Interesting, the quoted exact-phrase variant still works on Yandex. It doesn't work without quotes anymore, though it worked yesterday. It looks like they forgot about the quoted variant... |
Yes, and it also works when you add the phrase plus some words from the site... but apparently, the non-quotes variant is what they censored, at least if the reports are right – e.g. take a look at this screenshot Oleg sends: http://kreslav.livejournal.com/49562.html |
Elias: > well Google will not do it , we saw the miserable > failure and it s still there.
Google actually does remove sites based on government requests in China, Germany, France. They do not do this for traditional googlebombing, but actually a site like Human Rights Watch is also on top because people link to it using the link text "human rights". So in a way it's a "natural" bomb which Google.cn agreed on removing, and that makes it far worse – after all, when you'd remove a Googlebomb you can at least say that people gamed the system (Google.com also removes spam results, i.e. those that game the system). |
Oleg also tells me that Yandex gives a vague disclaimer "that they can remove 'search spam', and search spam is almost anything, while at the same time they're saying they're not tampering with the results." |
Oleg adds: "I have no proof it was on government request of course, it could be self-censorship as well." |
There's a new attempt at a Googlebomb for Chuck Norris based on the famous Chuck Norris fact "Google will not search for Chuck Norris because it knows you don't find Chuck Norris, he finds you."
If you're interested in helping, try and get as many other bloggers to post the url http://clients.arranschlosberg.com/chuck/index.htm with the anchor text of Chuck Norris – so that a link of 'Chuck Norris' leads to http://clients.arranschlosberg.com/chuck/index.htm . It will be hilarious if it gets to #1 and you search Chuck Norris and press I'm Feeling Lucky.
Thanks. |
Another option would be that their index got updated and the link is no longer considered relevant.
If you really want to find details about how Putin is the next Hitler – yandex will provide you with plenty of uncensored info.
The"enemy of people" is just odd and irrelevant search requiest in the first place –
FYI, this phrase is 'cliche' that was used by KGB to carry out mass arrests and executions in 1937 and later. Yandex claiming that Putin is the "enemy of people" really sounds like soviet paper Pravda during taht time.
If anything, this googlebomb makes fun of yandex, not Putin.

In Poland we play similar. enter "Siedziba Szatana" – (Hell, barton of satan) leads to religious and political (sux!) radio-station. "Ptasia grypa" (birds flue) – lead to president (of his name like duck). and one very old "kretyn" (idiot) which used to lead to politician(s) that was actually best match for this keyword. People makes it really funny. http://google.com/trends?q=ptasia+grypa%2Cwybory&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all shows dependency of "Ptasia grypa" and elections in Poland. |
