You can now run Adwords from within Google Base for your Google Base items. This is further evidence that Google intends to use Base as an additional revenue stream.

It's strange, however, that Google is enabling this feature before opening up the buying and selling of Base items to all users. I guess they want to test this first. The long time that Google is taking on testing Google Base and Purchases shows that Base is a long-term strategic product, and not just another side project.

To prevent confusion, I should probably point out that this is only for individually submitted items. And that the Adwords option appears, when you are submitting or editing an item. (I think they should add an Adwords tab). This is not an option for bulk uploads.
