The link google.com/notebook was previously redirected to google.com/gn, but now, google.com/gn is redirecting you to google.com/notebook. Seems like Google is now more favor on "Notebook" than "Google Notebook"(GN).

Yes I notice this too. I hope that /gn remains active though, "notebook" > "gn" so takes more time.

Good catch. Anyone wants to make a bet on when this will be released? My guess is Wednesday.

I guess it will be Thursday.

My guess is Wednesday, as well, but that it will be up briefly, then disappear again for awhile because of all the traffic.

No. It will be Tuesday I think. And I think it will probably stay online and accepting sign ups. They have delayed it by a week or so to get extra capacity I think (or write all the help articles).

LOL, like the page creator? <I guess it will be dugg, slashdotted>

Yeah but Page Creator, Analytics etc have been a bit of an embarassment for Google. I don't think (or certainly hope they wont) they'll let it happen again.

Does anyone know whether it is being released in Labs or as a beta?

Calendar (not a labs) survived the launch (JUST). But labs products have tended to flop.

Sam, can you tell me the difference between Labs and beta??

Haochi [PersonRank 10]

Does Google have a explaination for why choosing Labs instead of beta?
I guess it is just another name.

Yep, they answered that one in the Press Day Q&A. Google says the reason is that Labs makes sure the press doesn't think of those services as real, big ones... and then complain.

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but perhaps I missed it, but did you notice that http://google.com/robots.txt includes the following now....

/notebook/search?

I'm going to be very optimistic and say tonight! Just because of the fact that they have now added it to the robots.txt file. (As mentioned by Kirby)

You don't even have to look at notebook. Just highlight, note, and come back later. That's really cool. Wounder if it can do video...
