After...no question |

First.... more clean... |

Before, absolutely – it follows the usual Google "simplicity first" ideal |

Before is much better, it's clean and effective, whereas After clutters the display and forces the user to constantly shift his or her eyes back and forth while making it more difficult to read. |

definitely after.
There's a problem with talk inside gmail and the stand alone application corresponding i think. I suggest pics to my friends but they dont show up in google talk gadget – even after my friends verify they did enable the pic. |

in fact, i think its exactly the same but more hierarchized... The colors help us to know where to see |

I will go with Before because of its simplicity. Simplicity is extremely important for all online email applications including Gmail because there are many different web browsers and computers in the world. There are people using Lynx browser to access Gmail. There are people using pagers, cellphones, PDA and so on.
Simplicity mean more accessible for people who are not part of the mainstream. |

Before. After has way too much stuff going on. |

I think "after" idea is come from Google Calendar email reminder. I like simplicity but little bit "strange and fun" can make ppl will use that "suggest contact picture" more. |
Lore | 18 years ago # |
Before! Cause it's more clean. |
Niraj Sanghvi | 18 years ago # |
Before is much clearer to understand. |
Adam | 18 years ago # |
Before is much better! Much better. |
Ravi | 18 years ago # |
Before is google's way |
Giovanni | 18 years ago # |
before of course! clean and simple as usual |
Yayo | 18 years ago # |
Before is less invasive in the interface, don't ya think? |
Haochi | 18 years ago # |
I would definitely choose before...It looks less complex to me. |
Lyncirium | 18 years ago # |
before!! It is much easier to read the information and the layout of after is too complex. |
CJ Millisock | 18 years ago # |
Before. |
Nubs | 18 years ago # |
I think some of you guys aren't realizing that the after actually does follow the google look... its the kind of thing they use for google calendar emails that are sent to the email account.
But stil.... before for me :) |
Rui Jorge | 18 years ago # |
The first one. as simply as google! |
Jens Minor | 18 years ago # |
before! after looks too much complex. |
Frode | 18 years ago # |
before, mutch more cleaner... |
OREO | 18 years ago # |
the after matches the calendar invitation theme more.. but I don't know.. I don't like one over the other. |
Colin | 18 years ago # |
The 'before' one was much cleaner. The after design seemed cluttered to me. Too much stuff in a small amount of space. |
Aziz | 18 years ago # |
the first one is less evil!
|
Dint | 18 years ago # |
Before, obviously. |
dpneal | 18 years ago # |
Before.
'less evil', why is the second one evil? Or do you mean you just don't like it? |

let me explain something... (i'm exodus)... -The mail body is just like the G-Calendar reminder, so: It is the "GOOGLE STYLE". -The title background: i saw (almost) the same thing in a screenshot, but it was a little diferent. In my opinion it's the same but in the center in the mail body, so: Maybe what i saw was a "Gmail Usability test". -And the icons from the right, i like them. |

I don't like the after version. But I don't like the styling by Google either. It looks too yucky. |
Lelia Thomas | 18 years ago # |
While I think the before could be a bit more organized, I like it's simplicity. The after version is too busy and doesn't have much of a focus. I also fecking hate that blue color that Google loves to use... |
shellehs | 18 years ago # |
after no dlt |
Reyhan Dhuny | 18 years ago # |
Before! |
Alex Ksikes | 18 years ago # |
Absolutely useless feature. |
Neil Ro | 18 years ago # |
After! |
Kirby Witmer | 18 years ago # |
I don't really like either.... They both could be improved. |
Shifra | 18 years ago # |
After. |
Gish | 18 years ago # |
Before, It looks simpler, and cleaner. |
