The talk over Google Talk and Nokia is a nice idea and should be on the table. Earlier this week, an announcement was made that Google and Nokia could partner using WiFi as a means to allow communications and a telephone-like device such as that being build by Nokia to take advantage of the WiFi while Google floods us with its ads.
And revolution it is as it is reported that approximately 300 municipalities including the likes of San Francisco, Philadelphia and the State of Connecticut are moving towards offering WiFi free of charge. What many of these providers are overlooking is the real safety and security utilitarian uses—disaster management.
