I hypothesize that this has to do with GTalk's supposed future interoperability with AIM.

I hope it comes soon.

Was not Trilllian actually XMPP complient ??

this means that GTalk is the main value proposition that will be leveraged!!

Any idea, if they (google) can match the SKype Deal (at least in North America's) ??

IMHO, google cannot get into the VoIP markets!!

thoughts ??

I used to use Trillian, but then they launched a big effort to make money and lost their soul.

I despise Trillian...it's annoying...use GAIM.

I always thought it had no place in the google pack...Google uses KISS...Trillian doesn't use KISS...

Sound of Trillian exec's whining:

'Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.'

Why was it even there in the first place if they have GT? Dumb.

I think Google Pack is just a trick to install Google software. You can choose to install what you want from the Pack, but people targeted by GPack (who are not computer savy) don't generally change the defaults.

Never mind, trillian is a hideous app. If anything, Google Pack is now improved.

Now... next to go, Real Player.. :D

Google's going to "need it" (lots of luck)??

I'll have a glass of whatever flavor of Kool-Aid the Trillian corporate cafeteria is serving up. It sounds trippy. Maybe they can start mass-producing that after their chat-client business gets rolled.

GTalk can already interoperater with ICQ and AIM, albeit
not in a straight way(register both gtalk and icq on the same jabber client,
then when you open gtalk you see your icq contacts too)
