I must say the page would long and ugly. I don't think its a good idea... I would rather write a greasemonkey script to get rid of annyoying the bottom and top ads... side ads are just fine they are unobtrusive.

Actually I have seen those bottom ads yesterday and I doubted whether it was news or not.

Google seems like they are having some hard time trying to generate more revenues for their search results, specialy when we know that they can't change much of the page simplicity/layout/loadtime (think video ads) they buid their success on.
