It seems that Yahoo is going through a complete redesign. From Yahoo Video, Finance and MyWeb.

I think this is exactly what Jeremy Zawodny was talking about when he went on one about how Yahoo stopped caring about sites like Video, Finance and Webmail once they become the dominant site. Competition from Google has meant that they need to up the ante and start to offer something a little different.
Generally this is something that I applaud since it means we as consumers win. Now we just need Google to compete with Flickr and offer something beyond our expectations.
On a note about their designs, I think they are very heavy/complex designs. As Philipp mentioned in one of his posts/comments Yahoo's design tend to be complex and incorporate a huge amount of information into the interface. Google on the other hand try to keep each page with a specific purpose in mind. |
