Each of the majors have pros and cons – strengths and weaknesses – <B>BUT TOGETHER – IMAGINE THE IMPACT OF THEIR COMBINED INTELLIGENCE</B>
Imagine a Meta Search Engine that uses the SERPS of Google Yahoo MSN and ASK
Using advanced filtering ALGOs that intelligently takes the most relevant results from EACH engine per query – then quickly returns results as ONE SERP
Imaging it being quick to load – no distractions – with links to optional News Images and Multimedia search that does the same thing.
IMAGINE WHAT AN IMPACT THAT WOULD MAKE ON THE WORLD OF SEARCH |

No – not just "found on ....." – then ranking the SERPs that way
but using a filtering ALGO that can reinterpret the INITIAL offering sby GYM then return the most relevant serps...in other words the creme' de la creme'
One has to assume that they all can offer something better – WITH COMBINED INTELLIGENCE – and a superior filtering Algorithm

But from what I have experienced Google is the best at search. Any amalgramation of Google + other search engines is bound to offer lower search quality. |
Actually I think dogpile is exactly like what you are talking about... from the dogpile "about" page:
Once the results are retrieved, the innovative metasearch technology used by Dogpile goes to work removing duplicates and analyzing the results to help ensure the best results top the list. |
Doing a search query, you will find MANY relevant results in the top 20.
One has to ask why are there some RELEVANT results in one but NOT the other.
There all have individual algo strenghs – but NONE is a panacea.
The combined filtered ALGOs could produce a miracle
Dogpile tends to bias its results on what appears most frequently on GYM for a Search Query without customization

imagine – a Search Engine that compensates for each others mistakes – and allows personal & AJAX customization
with optional FLUFF

It would be like all the big brains of GYM coming together of one search masterpiece

Maybe as an experiment it would be nice to have the normal Google results, but if Yahoo's #1 result doesn't appear in the top 10, it will be added as a onebox somewhere. I wonder if it's possible to script this in Google Co-op? Whether or not that's really an improvement is another question... just imagine Google's spam filters were successful in getting a spammer out of the top 10 for a competitive keyword, but the spammer is still getting through fine in Yahoo – this would only add to pollute the Google SERPs. Google or any other search engine (at least in theory) already has the power to mix'n'mash a variety of algos into a single result. Didn't Googlers say they're using 100 different approachs in ranking? |
theres anothe tool out there called as Ehlist.ca .. I tried it.. but it only give graphs.. |
