I'm a longtime Slashdot reader, and when I first saw that design weeks ago I didn't like it. It makes the left side wider and stories start farther to the right than they have for years. It doesn't make the site any easier to read, and takes the focus away from easily reading the articles and toward a new look that is unnecessary.

But hopefully I will be able to set my default theme in the user config. And it's not like I visit the site often, since I read it through Bloglines. Only visit the site when I want to access a link that they remove from the RSS feed.
