I find it hard except that Google should ever be in position to become the law. It's un-google and it's terrible to think of it happening.

Google definitely scans email attachments, we've known that for a while. EXE files can not be sent via gmail, not even in a zip file.

Yes, Google scans attachments to some limit. I heard it's safe to use "txt" as extension for anything, be it exe, vbs, or zip. Wether or not they kicked this guy for cracks we don't know of course. I don't know how I would feel if it's true Google checks for cracks.
