is anyone catching this chatter ??

Opera weekly build statement : "Regarding the old RSS icon: Mozilla would like us (and other users of it) to sign an agreement on the use of the feeds icon. We fully respect their rights to the icon and will not use it as long as this isn’t sorted out"
I also thought that Moz was open source community , now I am reading that they are filed a trademark too!!
Note: This post is falls under the 20% zone :)_ |
Another case of Web Sue.0? :) |
not sure, but this kinda shakes the open source community.. see the anon thread which sez : "..that means Firefox will no longer be distributed in Debian and other such Linux distros." |
It was that thing by Matt Brett that got it everywhere, nothing really to do with Mozilla. http://feedicons.com
On a related note the IE button which is remarkably like this one is not identical to the firefox one. I am told the white bits don't extend as far or have different curvature or something. Are they also affected? |
No Sam, its not the same as feedcions .. take a look at the Trademark filing |
a while back IE and mozilla talked and agreed to make it universal for "feed", thats what the feedicons thing was. and a designer with too much time on his hands... |
