I will hold my breath until it's decided – I have the memories of Nigritude Ultramarine and its flaky end round!

So now it looks like we might not see any money at all. What are your thoughts?

Without ever having actually had the money it doesn't really bother me that nobody will get it. It is extremely generous of you to offer $50 out of your pocket for the raffle, but I don't think that should be necessary. If you did and I was to win rather than accepting it I would tell you to keep it or donate it to a fund for Tsunami Relief.

Congratulations Philipp, your victory was brilliant ;)
It looks like you should not count on the money. It's bad for your lottery, but this contest was fun and you gave us the opportunity to see the power of backlinks and popularity.

I suppose it's time to rename my link back to Google Blogoscoped.

I think he owes you a thousand bucks. Bottom line.

That's just too bad that this guy was lying. The truth, however, remains – you won Seraphim Proudleduck! Quite a feat, considering that just about everyone wanted to win it. On another note, I don't think you should offer $50 of your own money; Salmon Bones broke its promise and you shouldn't have to compensate for their deception. Regardless of how this turned out, you did a great job! Congrats Philipp!

Congratulations Philipp. I've only just got chance to check the results, but I think everyone knew you'd be the winner for this one. It's just a shame the organiser decided to screw everyone over at the last minute.

Regardless of the money, though, well done for maintaining your position all this time!

Thanks for the comments. I already donated to the Tsunami relief on another occasion, but if whoever wins wants to donate the money that is of course fine by me. Yes, the guy ows me 1000 pounds, for sure. I also agree the win is still ours and that's what counts most!

Well done Philipp! I never entered the contest so didn't supply a link to salmonbones (which I am now pleased about) but I do feel sorry for all those who put a lot of effort into this contest – including myself, although my efforts were mostly directed towards theanomaly's site. I hope you get your cash eventually.

I never did any links to the organisator, such a unprofessionnal site couldnt be serious. But congratulations for winning.

Bernhard, I agree the Salmonbones site looked unprofessional. Next time I will trust my gut feelings. I learned from this experience. Without a company address and a professional-looking site, I won't trust a competition again. Now the only thing I have is a name: Shaun O'Connor. He ows me and Kevin W. 1000 pounds.

I have Shaun's full home address now, it seems.

Congrats on getting #1, and thanks for being nice enough to spend $50 out of your own pocket. Hopefully Shaun will come through with the money eventually.

First of all, Philipp congratulations for this achievement! My advice is that you should take legal action against Mr. O'Connor. He ows you some bucks. To end this comment, I have some words to Mr. O'Connor:

[*]Shaun O'Connor, DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU TO HELL!

The only news I have right now is that Shaun contacted me via email. So he is alive, he is watching what unfolded, and it seems he feels bad about it, though there's no specific timeline yet for when he wants to pay. I'll keep everyone updated if there are news, and all future payouts will be forwarded to Kevin Wallace.

Congratulations Philipp,

And I wish to congratulate Kimberlyclarko (http://www.hautetfort.com/seraphim-proudleduck/) and Siddartha (http://www.taggle.org/fr/blog/2004-08-28/8/seraphim-proudleduck.tg) who were second and third at the end of the contest.

Shaun O'Connor owes them pounds too...
