This was actually a test by a blackhat SEO. The site was registered, populated and fully indexed within 8 days. 2 billion pages in 8 days. Very impressive. Sure the guy made some money from it but Google has now found the loophole and patched it so in a way he was compensated for exposing it.

Trust me there are a ton of blackhat SEOs out there not happy about what he did. Personally I find it intriguing because there are alot of exploits out there that most people dont know about. This is almost the same thing as a hacker finding an exploit in IE.
